This spring bloomer is a performer. We used to think that is was a more diminutive plant, but came to realize that with age, it would become a larger shrub (up to 10’ by 10’ if happy). The flowers emerge celadon, aging to soft yellow. While it can take full sun, this plant looks best with some shade and supplemental watering. Autumn color is a clear, bright yellow. To extend the season of interest, one can under plant with shade tolerant clump-forming perennials, such as Brunnera, Asarum or ferns.
