The plant breeder Eric Smith, of the United Kingdom, was the first to hybridize Helleborus x. ericsmithii. These plants are not common in commerce, bloom for three plus months, and thrive well in part sun conditions. A mature plant can grow 12" to 18" tall and up to 30" across. It has very nice evergreen foliage, though it is best to cut some of it when the flowers emerge in order to show off the flowers.
