The Trillium cuneatum in this photograph has proved to be a very vigorous clone. Good leaf markings add interest to the plant after the flowers have stopped. Native to the Southeast of the United States, this species flowers reliably and heavily every year for us. We have divided this plant repeatedly, in the fall, in order to propogate it. The 'mother bulb' will create offsets, which we carefully pry off. Usually they are potted up for winter, kept in protected cool area, and then are planted out in the spring.
