Oxalis oregana is one of our native groundcovers. In the shamrock family, this plant does best in part to deep shade. Full sun will cause leaf scorch and general ugliness. One can find white and pink flowered forms of this plant at nurseries. Be aware that when established, this plant can and will suffocate delicate neighbors. The deciduous form pictured is more aggressive, compared to an evergreen form that is also native to the region. We use oxalis as an effective weed suppresser for areas of the garden that are off the beaten path.
