Paeonia 'Horizon' dates from 1943, another Saunders hybrid. Saunders was also responsible for Paeonia 'Late Windflower.' This single flowered peony is in Ed's perennial border and has held up to less than ideal growing conditions. While it gets enough sunlight, the air is trapped in the border, due to all the shrubs and trees that block air movement. As with 'Late Windflower', we favor singles or semi-doubles over many of the more ruffled forms, due to rain. Paeonia 'Horizon' was purchased from Reath's Peony located in Vulcan, Michigan.
