These Primula japonica were a gift to the garden by a friend of ours. Planted in the Southeast corner of Ed's property, in a partially shaded setting, these plants have settled in happily. Often sited near ponds, we have found these primula to do well in normal garden soil, as long as they get supplemental summertime watering. Very fecund, every seed seems to be viable. In a garden setting it can be nice to interplant these primula with later blooming perennials, so as to not leave a gap in the garden when these stop flowering .
