A native to western US and British Columbia, this heuchera relative is a shorter lived perennial, usually lasting three or four years. In the garden we’ve found them to be slightly aggressive, as they can crowd out more delicate neighbors. Flowering mid-spring, the stems can reach several feet in stature, and some plants will offer a light fragrance. After flowering, we’ll allow a few to seed in, while deadheading the majority. Best in part shade, this plant will tolerate summer drought (though will look more tatty).
