Commonly known as 'leatherleaf' viburnum, this plant is native to parts of China. Here at the garden we planted it in deep shade, where it thrives (after having established a good root system). The flowers are somewhat dull, and while there is some fruit production, it isn't significant nor showy. However, it does an excellent job of screening, with minimum care, while growing under a canopy of towering conifers.
