Begonia grandis 'Alba' is a hardy begonia for the Pacific Northwest. This herbaceous perennial (18" to 24" tall) emerges late in the spring and will flower from late summer well into the the fall. Native to China, these plants thrive in part to mostly full shade, as long as they get some supplemental watering. The pink flowered form is most widely available. This year a new selection came onto the market, which has deep reddish tones to the backside of its leaves.
