This form of Lilium hansonii was collected by Dan Hinkley of Heronswood Nursery. Native to Japan, Korea, and Siberia, this lily was planted in the curator's garden in 2002. We are waiting to see if it will multiply. The flower petals are very thick and fleshy, more so than any other variety that we have in the garden. If the plant does well, we will divide the offsets and plant them in various parts of the garden for a mid to late June display.
