Anemone nemerosa 'Robinsoniana'
Anemone nemerosa 'Robinsoniana'. Photographed by Michelle Margroff. Copyright 2002. All rights reserved.
Anemone nemerosa 'Robinsoniana' is a beautiful springtime ephemeral, named for William Robinson-the 'father' of modern English woodland gardens. This plant thrives in the mixed woodlands, flowering in April/May. Be aware that the roots form impenentrable masses, so planting flower bulbs among these anemones is not an option. This form of A. nemerosa has become easier to find over the last few years. Any form is nice to have in the garden. Come June the foliage will die down for the year and won't reemerge until the following spring.
