Dianthus 'Firewitch'
|
| Dianthus 'Firewitch' is
a new addition to the curators garden. Enough four inch pots were purchased
so we can create a large mat of plants. This form is supposed to flower
for quite a few months. We will see if that is the case. The dianthus were
planted with alfalfa pellets, which we use as a slow release fertilizer.
Other than that the plants won't be fertilized. Over the years we found
that heavily fed dianthus have a tendency to end up with gaps. Our desire
is to have a large steely blue "pool" of foliage.
