Arum italicum
|
| Arum italicum is native to parts of Europe and
thrives in the maritime parts of the Northwest. In late summer the fruit
ripens and lasts for two to three months. Usually by the fall solstice,
the foliage starts to emerge (arrow head shaped) and stays up until the
following late spring/early summer. Flowers occur in the spring, oddly shaped
and not beautiful, but this isn't the reason to grow the plant. Look for
the form 'White Winter' or other named forms that have intense white marbling
to the leaves.
